{"id":1969,"date":"2023-05-13T16:22:52","date_gmt":"2023-05-13T14:22:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gregoryderville.com\/?p=1969"},"modified":"2025-04-19T18:34:07","modified_gmt":"2025-04-19T16:34:07","slug":"the-doors-the-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gregoryderville.com\/index.php\/2023\/05\/13\/the-doors-the-end\/","title":{"rendered":"The Doors &#8211; \u00ab\u00a0The end\u00a0\u00bb"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec le fantastique \u00ab\u00a0Riders on the storm\u00a0\u00bb , \u00ab\u00a0The end\u00a0\u00bb est l&rsquo;une des rares chansons des <a href=\"https:\/\/gregoryderville.com\/index.php\/tag\/the-doors\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/gregoryderville.com\/index.php\/tag\/the-doors\/\">Doors <\/a>que j&rsquo;adore vraiment, qui provoque en moi le \u00ab\u00a0<em>sweet delight<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb \u00e9voqu\u00e9 \u00e0 plusieurs reprises par le texte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C&rsquo;est aussi l&rsquo;un des morceaux sur lesquels le stup\u00e9fiant charisme de Jim Morrison \u00e9clate de la fa\u00e7on la plus saisissante, m\u00eame dans la version en studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce n&rsquo;est pas un chanteur, c&rsquo;est un chamane psych\u00e9d\u00e9lique, excessif, excentrique, instable, borderline, qui lors des sessions d&rsquo;enregistrement ne se souvenait m\u00eame plus de ce qu&rsquo;il y avait fait la veille tellement il \u00e9tait d\u00e9fonc\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce n&rsquo;est pas une chanson, c&rsquo;est une transe hypnotique et transcendantale de plus de six minutes, \u00e9crite, compos\u00e9e, jou\u00e9e et chant\u00e9e sous l&#8217;emprise de l&rsquo;acide ou du peyotl, et enregistr\u00e9e dans une ambiance de bougies et d&rsquo;encens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce ne sont pas des instruments de musique, ce sont des objets rituels (le son de guitare est \u00e9tonnamment proche du sitar de Ravi Shankar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cet ensemble barr\u00e9 \u00e9tablit une connexion directe avec l&rsquo;inconscient: Jim Morrison, qui quelques semaines avant la session d&rsquo;enregistrement avait improvis\u00e9 en concert des paroles explicitement oedipiennes (\u00ab\u00a0<em>Father? Yes, son? I wanna kill you \/ Mother\u2026 I want to\u2026 \/ Fuck you, mama, all night long<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb ), invite ici \u00e0 plonger dans ses propres t\u00e9n\u00e8bres et \u00e0 affronter en face ses d\u00e9mons int\u00e9rieurs, pour les \u00e9trangler, ou pour les vomir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au milieu de la chanson, le silence qui s&rsquo;installe est peu \u00e0 peu recouvert et d\u00e9chir\u00e9 par des chants d&rsquo;oiseaux, des sons stridents et vibrionnants, des cris et un mur de notes d\u00e9sordonn\u00e9es, et \u00e0 nouveau le silence \u2013 une atmosph\u00e8re assez angoissante\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tout cela a tellement frapp\u00e9 Francis Ford Coppola qu&rsquo;il a choisi \u00ab\u00a0The end\u00a0\u00bb comme bande son de la premi\u00e8re sc\u00e8ne de \u00ab\u00a0Apocalypse now\u00a0\u00bb (une sc\u00e8ne de bombardement au Napalm de la jungle vietnamienne).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quelques d\u00e9cennies plus tard, la chanson serait tout aussi parfaite pour accompagner la sc\u00e8ne finale du grand film sur l&rsquo;effondrement qu&rsquo;il reste \u00e0 tourner.
